The notification for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test January 2026 was released by the School Education Department on November 14, 2025, and the application form has already been available since November 15, 2025, and it is going to remain available until November 29, 2025.

If you are interested in appearing in the TG TET January 2026 for any paper, you are highly recommended to apply through the web portal at least a few days before the deadline so you don’t have to apply online at the last minute.

Here, we have shared everything you need to know about the TG TET January 2026. Read this article thoroughly to check who is eligible to apply for this exam, what you are required to pay as an application fee, what the exam pattern is, and much more.

Eligibility Criteria 

To participate in the TG TET January 2026 for any paper, it is mandatory that you meet the eligibility requirements. Go through the listed points to check if you are eligible to apply for Paper 1 and/or Paper 2.

  • Paper 1: You must have passed the Intermediate exam from a school recognised by the TGBIE and have completed a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a four-year Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from an NCTE-recognised institute.
  • Paper 2: You must have pursued a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a university recognised by the UGC and have completed a two-year Bachelor of Education or two-year Diploma in Elementary Education from an NCTE-recognised institute.

If you have completed a four-year Bachelor’s of Elementary Education, a four-year Bachelor’s of Arts cum Bachelor’s of Education, or a four-year Bachelor’s of Science cum Bachelor’s of Education from an NCTE-recognised institute, you can apply for Paper 2.

It is mandatory that you have achieved at least a 50% score in the qualifying exam, and for the reserved category candidate, it is only 45%. There is no upper age limit to apply online for any paper of this examination.

Application Fee

In order to apply for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test 2026, the payment of the application fee is mandatory. To apply for only one paper, you are required to deposit the amount of ₹750, and the payment amount for two papers is ₹1,000.

Make sure you deposit the application fee by the due date. You can pay it using the debit card, credit card, NET banking or any other provided payment gateway. Your application form for this examination will be accepted only if you pay it by the deadline. 

Exam Pattern 

They have released the TG TET January 2026 exam pattern. Check it in terms of mode, duration, total marks, maximum marks, question type, marking scheme, section and medium for both papers.

Paper I

  • Mode: Offline 
  • Duration: 150 Minutes 
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Total Marks: 150
  • Question Type: Objective 
  • Marking: 1 mark each for correct response, no negative marking
  • Sections:
    1. Child Development & Pedagogy – 30
    2. Language I – 30
    3. Language II (English) – 30
    4. Mathematics – 30
    5. EVS (Environmental Studies) – 30

Paper II 

  • Mode: Offline
  • Duration: 150 Minutes 
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Total Marks: 150
  • Question Type: Objective 
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, no negative marking
  • Sections:
    1. Child Development & Pedagogy – 30
    2. Language I – 30
    3. Language II (English) – 30
    4. Subject Area (Choose one) – 60
      • Mathematics & Science
      • Social Studies
      • Other Subject Teachers

The medium of the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test for January 2026 is English and Telugu, except for the language section. 

How to Apply?

In order to apply for the TG TET January 2026 paper 1 or 2, please follow the step-by-step instructions available below.

  • Go to the official website of the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test at https://tgtet.aptonline.in/.
  • Click on the option that reads ‘Fee Payment’, and pay the required amount using one of the payment gateways.
  • After fee payment, tap on the Application Submission and log in with the Journal Number and Date Of Birth.
  • Fill in the application form by providing details, and attach documents with a photograph and signature. 
  • Lastly, you have to review all the details you have provided and click on the Submit button to apply.
