Exam Date
The CBSE, New Delhi, has announced the exam date for the CTET 2026. They are all set to conduct this exam on February 8, 2026, in two shifts. The timing of this exam is going to be available only on the admit card.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility requirements for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are available below.
- Paper 1: You have passed the Class 12 Exam with any stream from a recognised school and completed a two-year DElEd or four-year BElEd from a recognised institution.
- Paper 2: You have pursued a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised university and completed a two-year DElEd or two-year BEd from a recognised institution.
If you have pursued a four-year BA-BEd or four-year BSc-BEd from a recognised institution, you can apply for Paper 2 of the CTET 2026. Note that there is no cap on the lower or upper age limit to sit in this exam.
Application Fee
The payment of the application fee is mandatory to apply for the CTET 2026. A candidate who belongs to UR or OBC needs to deposit ₹1,000 and ₹1,200 in case of applying for only paper and both papers, respectively.
If you belong to a Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste or Person with Benchmark Disability, you need to pay only ₹500 for one paper, and in case of applying for both, you need to deposit the required amount of ₹600.
Exam Pattern
The CTET 2026 will take place in offline mode using the OMR sheets. A total number of 150 objective-type questions of 1 mark each without any negative marking are going to be asked from the different sections:

To touch the maximum number of questions, each candidate is going to have 2.5 hours. The medium of exam will be English and the regional language of the state, except for the language section in a paper.
