CTET 2026 Notification: Application Fee, Eligibility Criteria, Last Date

The Central Board Of Secondary Education, New Delhi, released the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 on 27 November 2025, and then candidates who want to participate in this exam will be able to apply for it.

The application form for the CTET 2026 is available on 27 November 2025; if you are interested in sitting in this exam, you will be able to apply. To apply for this exam, you have to provide details, attach documents and deposit the application fee by the due date.

Important Dates 

The CBSE, New Delhi, announced the important dates for the CTET 2026 with the release of the notification. Refer to the listed points to check the timeline.

  • Notification: 27 November 2025
  • Application Form: 27 November to 18 December 2025
  • Correction Window: 23 to 26 December 2025
  • Admit Card: February 2026
  • Examination: February 8, 2026
  • Answer Key & OMR Sheet: February 2026
  • Result: March 2026

Exam Date

The CBSE, New Delhi, has announced the exam date for the CTET 2026. They are all set to conduct this exam on February 8, 2026, in two shifts. The timing of this exam is going to be available only on the admit card. 

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility requirements for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are available below. 

  • Paper 1: You have passed the Class 12 Exam with any stream from a recognised school and completed a two-year DElEd or four-year BElEd from a recognised institution.
  • Paper 2: You have pursued a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised university and completed a two-year DElEd or two-year BEd from a recognised institution.

If you have pursued a four-year BA-BEd or four-year BSc-BEd from a recognised institution, you can apply for Paper 2 of the CTET 2026. Note that there is no cap on the lower or upper age limit to sit in this exam.

Application Fee 

The payment of the application fee is mandatory to apply for the CTET 2026. A candidate who belongs to UR or OBC needs to deposit ₹1,000 and ₹1,200 in case of applying for only paper and both papers, respectively.

If you belong to a Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste or Person with Benchmark Disability, you need to pay only ₹500 for one paper, and in case of applying for both, you need to deposit the required amount of ₹600.

Exam Pattern 

The CTET 2026 will take place in offline mode using the OMR sheets. A total number of 150 objective-type questions of 1 mark each without any negative marking are going to be asked from the different sections:

Paper 1 

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy
  2. Language I
  3. Language II
  4. Mathematics
  5. Environmental Studies 

Paper 2

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy
  2. Language I
  3. Language II
  4. Mathematics & Science or Social Studies / Social Science

To touch the maximum number of questions, each candidate is going to have 2.5 hours. The medium of exam will be English and the regional language of the state, except for the language section in a paper.

How To Apply?

In order to apply for the CTET 2026, follow the step-by-step instructions available below.

  • Go to the official website of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.
  • Click on the ‘New Registration for the CTET 2026’ option.
  • Enter required details accurately and complete the registration process.
  • After successful registration, you have to log in with the registration number and password to access the application.
  • Enter your personal and educational qualification details, and then attach documents, a photograph and a signature as per the requirement.
  • Pay the application fee using one of the provided payment gateways, review your application and submit it.
